Apple Watch: A closer look at the 3 variants
1.Apple CEO Tim Cook announced the arrival of the company's first smartwatch on Tuesday at the Flint Center for the Performing Arts in Cupertino, California. The company also unveiled the new iPhone 6 and Apple Pay.
2.The picture shows the Apple Watch Sport variant which, like the other smartwatch models, will start at $349 and will be available early next year. It works with iPhone 5, 5c, 5s, 6, and 6 Plus and comes with colourful wrist bands.
3.The Apple Watch Edition, which is made from 18-karat gold, is one among the 3 variants that Apple has launched. The other two variants Apple Watch and Apple Watch Sport also have a gyroscope and an accelerometer that help in keeping track of fitness levels.
4.The Apple Watch and its variants can serve as a walkie-talkie, a drawing pad, pulse monitor, calorie counter and activity tracker. It runs apps, takes dictation, supports Siri and interacts with the iPhone.
5.The Apple Watch sports a flat screen with sapphire glass and has a ‘digital crown’ with a twisting control that lets the user scroll through different functions.
6. he Apple Watch will support Apple Pay - the tech giant’s new virtual payment system aimed at replacing debit and credit cards. Tim Cook hailed it as the most “personal device we have ever created.”
